Making the “E” for East, the dance team performs their ritual.

The 4-seed girls varsity basketball team beat the 12-seeded Crete Cardinals 40-29 on Saturday, Feb. 24. The Griffins started off slow and got themselves in a 7-14 deficit after the first quarter. Applying the pressure and capitalizing on their opponent’s mistakes, the Griffins outscored the Cardinals 33-12 in the next three quarters. They will be playing the 5-seed Waverly Vikings as the 4-seed on Feb. 29 at 3:30 p.m. at the Pinnacle Bank Arena.
