In his second year on the Wingspan staff,  junior Aidan McClaren looks forward to creating feature stories that resonate with readers as well as hard news stories that capture attention. His goal for this year is to continue developing his journalism skills and build off the success he had last year to continue to contribute to the team’s overall success.

In the 2024-25 school year, he earned multiple awards, including two second-place finishes at the NSAA State Journalism Championships, one for news writing and the other for sports feature writing.

Outside of Wingspan, McClaren participates in One Act, Quiz Bowl, and E-Sports, where he enjoys games like Mario Kart, Overwatch, and chess. He describes himself as smart, funny, and kind, and his friends would back him up. Despite his many interests, he has one major dislike: strawberries.
