It can also be a good opportunity to get caught up on work," Michal said. "Even if a student's teacher is not available, there are other math teachers there who are ready to help, which is a huge benefit."

The Gretna East JV track team competed against Ashland Greenwood in a home dual meet on April 2. The varsity track team will compete this Friday, April 5 in Kearney at 12:30 p.m.

Reese Beery is a junior in her second year on the Wingspan staff. This year she serves as the Sports Editor. She is motivated by the competitive environment within the group, and she loves working with the diverse staff who are always pushing her to be her best, which she showed when she won second place at the NSAA State Journalism High School competition for Sports Feature Writing. Outside of the Wingspan, she participates in track, enjoys working and spending time with her family and friends. She also often attends sporting events, whether it's school, college or professional.
