Madeline Petrick, Editor-in-chief

Madeline, otherwise known as Madie, is a junior at Gretna East and is on her third year of being on a journalism staff, and her second as the Wingspan's Editor-in-Chief. She loves taking photos and writing for Gretna East Media, as she is also on the yearbook staff. As a freshman, Petrick took home first place in Entertainment Review at the NSAA High School State Journalism championships. As a sophomore she won four State awards. Aside from her involvement with Gretna East Media, she is also the Public Relations Officer for student council, a National Honors Society member and is on the Gretna varsity swim team. Due to her love of the field and nearly every aspect of it, Petrick hopes to pursue journalism after high school in college and eventually become a news anchor. See more awards here.

  Thank you for your interest in obtaining pictures from our student news website! We appreciate your enthusiasm for the images captured by our Gretna East Media staff.
  
  It’s essential to address copyright law when it comes to distributing photos our staff takes. We take copyright seriously, and our team is working diligently to ensure that we comply with all relevant regulations.
  
  We are exploring the possibility of selling photos that are not used in our publications as a fundraiser for our journalism program. We’re currently in the process of seeking approval from the district administration for this initiative.
  
  Please be aware that our Yearbook and Wingspan staffs have the first choice in selecting photos for their respective publications. However, any extra photos from athletic events, school events, and other occasions will be made available for purchase if the initiative is approved. You will be able to download or print these photos once the fundraising program is approved and implemented.
